Classic Beach Summer Camps for 4th and 5th graders @ Nisqually Reach Nature Center

Nominated for Best of South Sound Summer Camps, the Nisqually Reach Nature Center (NRNC) has hosted numerous summer day camps at Luhr Beach. These camps are designed to connect students entering grades 2nd-7th with nature through a hands-on, inquiry-based science program. Each 4-day camp enrolls 14 campers.

Our summer camps emphasize basic science concepts through engaging activities, educational games, and free time on the beach. In addition to the NRNC core curriculum, new elements are introduced each year. These include guest speakers and innovative activities. Past presentations have focused on the geology of sand/mud, nature journaling, salmon life cycle and habitat, prey/predator relationships, dogfish dissection, and much more. Many campers return year after year to build on and refresh what they experienced the previous summer.

Camps run from 9 am to 4pm, with 8:30 early drop off available.  Cost is $300. Camp scholarships are available.  The camps are run at the Nature Center located on the Sound at: 4949 D’Milluhr Dr, Olympia, WA 98516.
