All products are handmade or personally designed by local artists. A great way to support local small business and find that extra special gift for your friends and loved ones. Hosted by Salon di Stile at 2202 6th Ave Tacoma, WA , this craft fair takes place every other Saturday from 10AM-6PM. Upcoming Market Days are June 17, July 1, July 15, July 29, August 12, August 26, September 9, and September 23!

Family Saturdays – Story Time @ Washington State History Museum

Included with admission, FREE for WSHS members

Explore how history connects us all during this half hour story time program designed for children ages 4–10 and their families. We’ll read Imagine, written by Juan Felipe Herrera and illustrated by Lauren Castillo. Herrera was the first Latino U.S. Poet Laureate (2015–17). After the reading, we’ll engage in a hands-on investigation of a related artifact.

This program will be conducted in English and in Spanish.

Cider Swig Festival @ LeMay – America’s Car Museum

CIDER SWIG, Washington’s largest one-day cider-centered festival, is BACK! Come for a day of cider (and more) sippin fun, meet the makers, join in a competition or two, enjoy great eats and live music throughout the day!

THE CIDERS RETURN FOR THE 10th ANNUAL CIDER SWIG!

Cider Swig returns with dozens of Northwest ciders to sip, live music, contests and games, and award winning “curbside cuisine” by area chefs and their food trucks!

The tasting event will showcase more than 130 Northwest ciders in addition to wine, mead, beer and other regionally crafted libations. Born out of a commitment to community and the environment, and the love for local flavor, Cider Swig connects festival goers directly with the makers. And, the?Swig’s Pop-up Bottle Shop is back, so you can take your favorites home to enjoy.

Beyond sharing cider and other local/regional crafted sips with the masses, Washington’s largest single day cider-centered festival highlights our region’s agricultural heritage, reinforces community friendships, promotes local businesses, agricultural and environmental organizations, and showcases regional talent throughout the day.

We are excited to be back LIVE and have an amazing line-up for the 10th annual Cider Swig.

Tickets: FREE for WSHS members, $15 for non-members. Registration is required.

The second annual Henry R. Fenbert Challenging History Lecture features historian Monica De La Torre, assistant professor of media and expressive culture in the School of Transborder Studies at Arizona State University.

De La Torre will discuss her first book, “Feminista Frequencies: Community Building through Radio in the Yakima Valley,” which tracks the emergence of Chicano community radio in rural farmworker communities in the 1970s. Her presentation will include a musical playlist featuring songs that illuminate the history explored in her research.

Join us for a celebration of Tacoma’s diverse history! This year’s festival commemorates the 150th anniversary of the arrival of the Northern Pacific Railroad to Tacoma and focuses on those in and coming to Tacoma were affected by that change.

On-site resume prep and guidance will be available to ensure your resume is ready for distribution to employers.
