SOUSA SPECTACULAR RETURNS TO THE PANTAGES MARCH 4th!
The award-winning TACOMA CONCERT BAND is proud to present its biannual SOUSA SPECTACULAR concert at Tacoma’s Pantages Theater on Saturday evening, March 4th. This event is TCB’s re-creation of John Philip Sousa’s world-renowned Sousa Band concert experience just as it would have been presented a century ago.
Led by TCB’s Conductor and Artistic Director Dr. Gerard Morris, with special guest guest conductor Music Director Emeritus Robert Musser, the program will feature works by Saint-Saëns, Suppè, Sousa, and Still, and will include solo appearances by soprano Elizabeth Galafa-Ylaya, cornetist Morris Northcutt, and trombonist Stuart Hambley.
Sousa Spectacular is one of TCB’s most popular concert experiences for the entire family, so we hope you are able to join us for an exhilarating program that showcases the musical prowess of the Tacoma Concert Band musicians, as well as that of our guest artists!

Greater Gig Harbor Foundation’s 2nd Annual Shamrock’n the Harbor is a 5K/12K family-fun run/walk. 100% of the proceeds from Shamrock’n the Harbor benefit the Greater Gig Harbor Foundation’s Gig Harbor Senior Center. The Senior Center is the only organization specifically working to meet the needs of our community’s seniors through regular programs, activities and services that enable them to remain active and thrive.
The courses follow the gorgeous Cushman Trail, with a few rolling hills to keep those legs awake and working; and for those doing the 12K you’ll get a gorgeous view from the Narrows Bridge. All ages can get seriously Irish while jigging o’er the hills, dales, and trails along your Shamrock’n journey!
All runners and volunteers are invited to the Post Run/Walk Céilí at Dunagan’s Irish Pub in Gig Harbor. Join us for awards, music and more!

Ahoy! The Symphony Tacoma Brass Quintet is hitting the high seas and taking you with them! Join the crew of the mighty brass-beards for a sea-themed musical adventure and search for musical treasures like timbre, pulse, dynamics and range. Featured music includes a variety of tunes inspired by pirates, the sea and Russian Sailors.
Come early for the instrument petting zoo at 1:30 pm!
Mini Maestros is designed especially for children ages 2-8 and their families. Each concert highlights a different family of orchestra instruments with curriculum prepared by Early Childhood Learning experts. Educator and emcee Shay Ryan introduces the instruments and musical concepts while Symphony Tacoma musicians demonstrate by playing songs that get kids singing, dancing, clapping their hands–and learning!
Summary
In this concert you will be treated to various musical configurations – duet, trio, sextet…. Each will bring out different tones, colors, and timbers of the wind instruments. Join us for this fun exploration of music.

Women In Leadership 2023 – Hosted by Junior League of Tacoma
Each year, a selection of women are awarded from Washington State for their outstanding leadership in the community. You won’t want to miss an evening with these women as they tell their stories and respond to questions regarding their path to leadership including challenges, sacrifices, and successes.
Our emcee for the evening will be Dona Ponepinto, returning emcee, President of the Association of Junior Leagues International, and President and CEO of United Way Pierce County.

Over the next several months, the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County staff and volunteers will be undertaking lifesaving work for over a thousand fragile, young, homeless, and at-risk kittens from our community.
