Notes from Purgatory: Menopause Journaling Workshop @ Lauda
Aug 12 @ 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm

Sasha Davies, author of The Menopause Companion, will lead this in-person, small-group workshop.

Through a mix of creative prompts and small group discussion, we’ll write and/or draw our way toward understanding who we are as our bodies change and who we hope to become.
Open to anyone contemplating or experiencing their transition to menopause. You don’t have to be a “writer” or an “artist” to attend! We will not be evaluating each other’s work.

Cost: Workshop only: $15 | Workshop + Copy of The Menopause Companion: $30

p.s. If you’ve not been yet, you’re going to LOVE Lauda. Plan on coming early or staying late to shop a little. It’s the most delightful stationery shop around–pens, journals, cards, watercolors!!!–they have all of my favorite things.

Smash Mouth & Spin Doctors @ Chambers Creek Regional Park
Aug 13 @ 7:00 pm

Smash Mouth epitomizes 90s pop rock with its groovy beats, memorable melodies, and fun lyrics. With two multi-platinum albums and one gold, plus their earworm hits “All Star” and “I’m A Believer” featured in Shrek, the band’s over-the-top pop has left its mark. Their music has been described as both futuristic and retro, unpredictable yet instantly recognizable. Every notably quirky and infectious song will have you singing catchy hooks, like “Walkin’ on the Sun,” “Then the Morning Comes,” or “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby.”

Spin Doctors also made waves in the 90s with funky mega-hits “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong,” “Cleopatra’s Cat,” and timeless favorite “Two Princes,” whose irresistible groove and scream-it-back chorus took it to #4 on the Top 100 singles chart. The Grammy® Award-nominated band enjoy two platinum albums, including Pocket Full of Kryptonite, the seventh best-selling album of 1993. Still riding the bus and shaking the room, the fun-loving quartet is as unpretentious as they are unpredictable, delivering a party-rock atmosphere with bluesy undertones. The group continues to record, producing its 6th studio album, If the River Was Whiskey in 2013.

The tasting event will showcase more than 130 Northwest ciders in addition to wine, mead, beer and other regionally crafted libations. Born out of a commitment to community and the environment, and the love for local flavor, Cider Swig connects festival goers directly with the makers. Beyond sharing cider and other local/regional crafted sips with the masses, Washington’s largest single day cider-centered festival highlights our region’s agricultural heritage, reinforces community friendships, promotes local businesses, agricultural and environmental organizations, and showcases regional talent throughout the day.

We are excited to be back LIVE and have an amazing line-up for the 10th annual Cider Swig.
