Tacoma’s Arts and Culture Festival

Great news for summer festival fans! Mosaic, Tacoma’s Arts and Culture Festival, returns to Wright Park in Tacoma on July 23 and 24 after a two-year hiatus.

Help kick off the weekend at 11 am on July 23 by joining the Walk of Destiny, then stay for a kaleidoscope of dance, music, art, food and family fun, set under the shady trees of Wright Park. This family-friendly, free event continues its 34-year tradition with a Kid’s Zone, hands-on cultural activities and experiences, two performer stages, as well as numerous arts and crafts, food, and information vendor booths.

    You’re encouraged to wear the traditional clothing of your heritage and join us in the ‘Walk of Destiny’ a coming together and celebration of the people and communities that make Tacoma the City of Destiny! This procession around the park begins at the main stage and ends with a welcoming event featuring a dedication by the Puyallup Tribe and speakers from the community.

Step back in time to 1855 at Fort Nisqually Living History Museum’s 36th annual Brigade Encampment.

This event recreates the bustle and excitement of the historic visit of fur traders to the Fort in 1855. Guests will witness the arrival of the brigade (the convoy that delivered a year’s worth of furs) and spirited contests between trappers and traders – from obstacle course races to cooking contests. Young and old may participate in “Engagé for the Day,” visiting with living historians at their tents and receiving hands-on lessons on period skills such as fire starting and spinning wool.
