Mar 28 @ 11:00 am – 5:30 pm

We’re Expecting…Kittens!

Tiny kittens in need of special, around-the-clock care are arriving and will continue to arrive in huge numbers this spring season as the weather heats up. Caring for them is a unique challenge for our dedicated staff and fosters as there will be many that are orphaned and in immediate need of medical care, formula, baby bottles, heating pads and more.

To help care for kittens in need, the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County is throwing a virtual Kitten Shower for the entire month of March!

Don't Judge Just Serve: 3rd Annual Virtual Fundraiser @ Virtual Fundraiser

Tacoma Community House is a nationally-respected, community-based service center for immigrants, refugees, and long-time South Sound residents seeking enrichment and pathways to self-sufficiency. For 110 years, we have helped countless individuals gain the skills they need to transition out of poverty, navigate a new culture, and find personal and professional success.

Many people come to us seeking one type of service and end up utilizing others, making us one of Tacoma’s most unique “one stop shops.” Annually, we provide 3,500 program services to 3,200 individuals from over 115 countries through our four core programs: ImmigrationEducationEmployment and Advocacy (for crime victims).

Project Homeless Connect + Collaboration for a Cause @ Fife Community Center
Jun 24 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Associated Ministries and WorkForce Central are partnering with City of Fife to bring a joint event offering access to life-changing resources and services that meet crucial needs for those who are unhoused, with the ultimate goal of supporting individuals into stable housing and employment opportunities.

For people without stable housing, accessing simple necessities can take months and require multiple trips to locations throughout the area. Both Project Homeless Connect and Collaboration for a Cause events connect people to services and resources directly on-site which saves them time, travel costs and gives agencies the opportunity to interact directly with the unhoused. Over 50 service provider agencies will be on site, along with over 100 community volunteers.

In addition to housing assistance, 30 employers will be conducting onsite interviews for entry-level jobs. The event will also provide medical services, dental care, veterans’ services and benefits, career training information, free lunches, haircuts, showers and laundry services, giveaways, children’s activities and more.
