Walk Me Home for FPAWS @ Point Ruston Grand Plaza
Aug 14 @ 10:00 am – 1:00 pm

Join us August 14, 2021 at 10:00am for the Walk Me Home for FPAWS event at the Point Ruston Grand Plaza in Tacoma, WA. Come take a walk with us along the beautiful Ruston Point Waterfront and support Foster Families in WA State.

Your support is greatly appreciated and will help cover the cost of the children who join their caregivers at the Pacific Northwest Caregivers Conference (PNWCC) at Great Wolf Lodge in November, 2021. The PNWCC is an annual, 3-day conference that brings together 250+ foster and adoptive parents, social workers, and other caregivers from WA State for training, resources, and support.

Register as a team or individual to walk in person or virtually! Create a personalized team walk page and invite family and friends to join your team or to donate. Registration is $25 and children under 12 are free.

Join us on YouTube as we stream the walk live! Thank you to our sponsor, Brennan Mayfield’s Thrivent Community for your support!

Habitat Challenge, urban rappel @ Hotel Murano
Aug 27 all-day

Few fundraising events present the kind of thrilling, bucket-list experience like the Habitat Challenge, presented by Harborstone Credit Union. It’s a 245? urban rappel down Tacoma’s second-tallest building – Hotel Murano – to raise funds for affordable housing in our community.

Some take the Habitat Challenge to conquer fears; others to mark a milestone; some do it just for the bragging rights.

This is not your typical rock-climbing rappel! We partner with Over the Edge (OTE) and their certified industrial ropes specialists manage the rappel. Anyone age 13+ and weighing between 100-300 lbs can safely rappel, and no experience is needed. However, participants must be able to climb two flights of stairs and a short ladder to access the rappel site. Edgers also need the leg strength to independently step up to the roof’s parapet. Globally, OTE has a history of over 75,000 descents at 372 buildings with no safety incidents.

A $50 registration fee holds your spot on the ropes and counts toward the $1,000 fundraising goal. We make fundraising easy with an online platform that tracks your progress and donors, including a unique URL that you can customize with your own photos, a statement about yourself and why you’re going over the edge for Habitat.

Proceeds benefit Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity’s affordable homeownership and foreclosure prevention programs, making it possible for families to be safely housed during these challenging times.
