Hope Vision Foundation Gig Harbor Vision Fair @ Ocean5

Are you adjusting to vision loss or caring for someone who with low vision? Join us for a day of community, inspiration and resources in Gig Harbor.

This free event will provide opportunities to be inspired by other people with vision loss and feature speakers on emerging assistive technologies. Informational tables will offer a chance to meet representatives from local organizations providing helpful services and adaptive aids.

Lacey Spring Fun Fair @ Saint Martin's University

The Lacey Spring Fun Fair has provided FREE activities and entertainment for thousands since 1988! Join us this year for wild rides, live performances, vendors, and delicious food concessions! Saturday May 20, 10am – 6pm and Sunday May 21, 11am – 5pm.

Craftopia: Free Family Craft Night! @ Craftopia
May 20 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Join us the third Saturday of each month in 2023 for some crafty fun for the whole family! Each month we will feature several crafts for all ages and levels for you to try your hand at. Join us from 3pm-6pm and see what you can create!
Light refreshments will be available. This event is free of cost, though donations to help cover supplies are always appreciated.  RSVP’s not required but are appreciated so we can ensure we have adequate supplies on hand for everyone.
A huge thank you to the Tacoma Arts Commission for their generous Community Arts Grant which is helping support our craft night!

Craftopia: Volunteer Packing Party @ Craftopia

Join us once a month to help prepare and pack up craft kits.  These kits are donated free of charge to the Tacoma Public Library and Pierce County Library systems.  The libraries then distribute them to the community so people of all ages can learn new projects and explore their creative side.
Packing parties include prepping of supplies and stuffing ziplock bags with materials.  We stuff between 100-300 bags each time, so lots of repetitive motion.  Beverages and snacks are provided, but feel free to bring your own as well.

State of the Urban Forest @ University of Washington - Tacoma
May 25 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

Join us for a special in-person conversation focused on tree canopy and climate connections in Tacoma.

Kristi Lynett, City of Tacoma Sustainability Officer for the City of Tacoma, will discuss the impact that climate change is having in our community and the role of trees in making us more resilient.

Mike Carey, Urban Forest Program Manager for the City of Tacoma, will share about recent progress on tree policy and programs at the city level.

Lowell Wyse, Executive Director of Tacoma Tree Foundation (TTF), will talk about the many ways that TTF is working to educate the public about urban forestry and create “tree equity” across the South Sound.

This panel will be held at the University of Washington Tacoma and moderated by Pierce County Council Member Ryan Mello. Suggested donations of $15 or more will support Tacoma Tree Foundation programs.

Puyallup Memorial Day Remembrance Program @ Pavilion in Pioneer Park, Puyallup

Puyallup’s annual Memorial Day Remembrance Program in the Pioneer Park Pavilion. Free, ample parking, and for all ages. Performance by the Clan Gordon Pipe Band. The guest speaker is Michelle Black, a Gold Star Widow, author of “Sacrifice: The Green Berets, A Fateful Ambush, and a Gold Star Widow’s Fight for the Truth”.
