Craftopia: Kids Acrylic Paint Class (4 weeks) @ Craftopia

Have a kiddo that is interested in learning to paint with acrylics? This class is great to get them started! Ms. Payette from Payette’s Fine Art is teaching a four-week course. It will include the basics on getting started with painting, techniques, and will focus on acrylic paint and some mixed media.

$100 per child. Recommended for ages 7-10 years old. Class runs for four consecutive Tuesdays.

Craftopia: Beginning Hand Pottery for Kids (4 weeks) @ Craftopia

Payette from Payette’s Fine Art will be teaching this fun and messy beginning pottery course. Your kiddos will have a chance to let their imaginations run wild while sculpting and molding their clay into a work of art. All pottery will be hand-sculpted. We will not be using a pottery wheel for this class.

$100 per child. Recommended for ages 8-12 years. Class runs four Tuesdays in September.

Fall Leaves Craft Saturday @ Job Carr Cabin Museum

Craftopia: Slime Time class @ Craftopia

Be a mad scientist in your very own slime lab! Create this wonderfully fun ooey gooey creation and add your own colors and decorations for something out-of-this-world! $5/participant. All ages and family friendly (children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult). This class only takes about 45 minutes, so start times may be staggered depending on the number of participants to make sure we can provide a safe learning environment for all.

Craftopia: Crystal snowflake ornaments for Kids @ Craftopia

Be ready to break out the holiday spirit (and the beads) as we create beaded holiday ornaments. Using a wire form, you will get to string beads in a variety of patterns to make something truly unique to you. Each participant will go home with one beautifully sparkly ornament and the know-how to make more at home. These make wonderful gifts.
$10 per person. This class is for ages 3+ (under 12 will need adult help).

77th Annual Tacoma Tree Lighting @ Pantages Theater

Join us for the 77th annual Tacoma holiday tree lighting as we gather at the Pantages Theater (901 Broadway) to usher in the holiday season! The celebration will take place on Sunday, November 27th, beginning at 4:00 PM.
Glowing in sparkling decorated trees, the Pantages Theater lobby will feature display tables and special entertainment hosted by local resident arts organizations, including Symphony Tacoma, Tacoma Arts Live, Northwest Sinfonietta, Tacoma Concert Band, Puget Sound Revels, Tacoma Youth Symphony Association, Tacoma City Ballet, and Tacoma Opera
To get even more in the holiday spirit, join the Tacoma Concert Band for their 2 PM “Sound the Bells” performance at the Pantages Theater. Tickets are available only on Ticketmaster: bit.ly/3FEIHjv

Before the official tree-lighting countdown, attendees will enjoy:

This holiday showcase event features a shimmering mix of holiday shopping, food, entertainment, holiday cheer in the Winter Wine Garden, photos with Santa at Santa’s Village and fun for the whole family! It’s a wonderful way to do your holiday shopping and enjoy the spirit of the season in a festive, fun setting that captures the magic and wonder of Christmas. The Singing Nativity is a daily performance not-to-be-missed. The Jubilee Theater features top local and national music and acts.
