Craftopia: Woven Bead Bracelets class @ Craftopia

Master crafter Darcy Jones of Serial Crafter will be teaching this fun, interactive bracelet making class. Students will learn about the various tools and supplies necessary and learn the technique to make both single and twin bead bracelets. Learners will then have a chance to design and create their own bracelet(s) to take home. Learners will have the tools and supplies to make two single bead bracelets or one twin bead bracelet Ticket sales are non-refundable, but are transferable to another person or to another class in the event you are unable to attend.
$30 per person. Ages 14 and up.

Enter Kim’s Convenience Store and meet the Kims, a loving, if imperfect, Korean family making their way in Toronto. In this award-winning play, the Kims face gentrification, a growing generation gap, and the threat of a new chain-store opening as they debate the future of their convenience store. Through it all parents Sang-Il, Yong-mi, their unmarried daughter Janet, and disappointing son Jung, learn to see each other in a new light. This hilarious and heartwarming story (recently turned into a Netflix sitcom) reminds us that family isn’t always convenient, but it might be the best deal out there. Plough to Plate @ Fort Nisqually Living History Museum

Enjoy a 19th century cooking contest and presentations on “farm to table” topics. Discover farm to table, 19th century style, at Plough to Plate!

Throughout the day guests can tour the heritage kitchen garden and poultry house, orchard, and grain patch and learn how these relate to the agricultural history of the Fort. Kids can participate in an egg and spoon race, a common entertainment in the 19th century. There’s a pancake race for the adults, a traditional British amusement involving a relay while flipping pancakes in a frying pan. The day’s highlight is the cooking competition with our period chefs trying their hardest to impress the judges with flavor and presentation to win the coveted “Golden Skillet” and “Golden Mold” awards.

Craftopia: CaTi Plants class @ Craftopia

These CaTi figures are super cute and fun to make. We provide the supplies and you can let your imagination run wild. You can paint the cat as well as the pot, chose to add flowers or not and even chose the types of rocks you would like for your pot. Follow our design or create your own.
