The 35th annual Washington Sportsmen’s Show presented by Leupold returns to the Washington State Fair Events Center, in Puyallup, February 2-6, 2022. Outdoor adventures far and near start here with hundreds of fishing and hunting exhibitors, guides and outfitters, new gear, boats, experts and thousands of items on sale at show-only prices. The Outdoor Cooking Competition takes center stage all days of the show with some of the country’s top grillers and BBQ pro’s. Don’t miss the Head and Horns Competition. If you think you have a set of antlers, horns or a head that’s special, bring it to the show to have it scored and entered into the competition for prizes. Public lands advocate and hunter Randy Newberg will be at this year’s show from Thursday to Sunday. He’ll be spending time at the show and doing daily Q & A sessions on public lands hunts, elk and other big game. The iconic Sportsmen’s Show seminar series is all-new with new speakers and topics. Each February we promote healthy smiles by joining with our dental community to offer free dental screenings right inside the Museum! Kids can pretend to be the dentist in our Puget Sound Dental Office exhibit and meet special guests like Amazon of Olympia. Fun, engaging activities are offered all month long.

24th Annual Asia Pacific New Year Celebration @ McGavick Conference Center

Asia Pacific Cultural Center (APCC) will host their biggest annual event, the 24th Annual Asia Pacific New Year Celebration, in person at the McGavick Conference Center in Lakewood, Washington, on February 19, 2022, from 11:00am-6:00pm. Each year they feature a different country or culture as the host, and this year they are featuring China with its rich history and heritage. This annual event honors and celebrates the vibrant cultures of Asia and the Pacific Islands that APCC serves and represents here in Greater Puget Sound.

Audiences will see demonstrations from China, as well as Guam, Philippines, Fiji, Vietnam, Korea, Thailand, Samoa, Japan, and many other countries. Everyone who attends this day-long event will experience folk music and dances, exciting martial arts, delicious food, and many other wonderful cultural presentations. Attendees can visit many resource booths, cultural displays, food booths, and a variety of vendor tables. It is a FREE family-friendly event for all ages.

The day kicks off with the colorful Drum of All Nations during the Opening Ceremony. Then throughout the day the audience will see Hawaiian dance from Halau Naniloa Mana’oakamai Okeala Akua, Korean drums from Morning Star, traditional dance from the Indonesian Cultural Association, the Pierce College Taiko Drum Corps, and much more. The 24th Annual Asia Pacific New Year Celebration is one way for APCC to proudly honor the Asia Pacific people in our community.
