SCJ Alliance opened its eleventh office in the fall of 2021, this one in Butte, Montana. Operating under the moniker SCJ Studio, the new location is in downtown at 1807 Florence Ave.
“We couldn’t wait to move to Butte and we’ve been welcomed with open arms by this wonderful, tight-knit community,” says SCJ Studio Principal Mark Garff. Garff said he sees tremendous potential in Butte-Silver Bow and southwest Montana.
SCJ is already working on the Butte Parks Master Plan with W.E.T. Design and Butte-Silver Bow County, on a Feasibility Study for the Our Lady of the Rockies Gondola project with Butte Local Development Corporation, as well as on commercial landscapes and residential garden designs for private clients all over Montana.
The Butte SCJ team currently has two licensed landscape architects and a designer. “The great thing about our firm is the variety of services we can offer,” said Garff. “Not everyone on a project team may be located in Butte, but we’ve worked together for years, seamlessly collaborating across disciplines and offices, with tremendous results.”
SCJ’s landscape architecture team has a rich portfolio of projects spanning residential gardens and site planning, public campuses and urban spaces, parks and trails, streetscapes and urban design, and ecological restoration.
SCJ Alliance is a 100% employee-owned firm with offices in Washington, Montana, and Colorado. We have experts in transportation design, environmental and urban planning, public outreach, construction management, civil engineering, and cable-propelled transit, like gondolas.
