When describing this season’s packed list of entertainers, speakers, dance troupes, celebrities and educators, the Washington Center Executive Director Jill Barnes says that, “This is one of the biggest seasons we’ve ever had and each of these performances brings something special to the season, making it an unmissable experience for all that promises to entertain and inspire.”

In the mix are the “Coco Live-to-Film Concert,” which brings the beloved Pixar film to life with a live Mexican Folklorico orchestra for audiences of all ages. Aimee Mann is renowned for poignant songwriting and a mesmerizing voice. Michael Yamashita’s stunning photography and storytelling transports audiences to far-off places, showcasing his incredible journeys and adventures. “The Aluminum Show” combines dance, puppetry and visual effects in a breathtaking spectacle. And the eternally delightful David Sedaris, master of wit and humor, will share his unique observations and hilarious anecdotes in an evening of laughter and reflection.

The Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical “Dear Evan Hansen” is the first musical to take a groundbreaking look – from the point of view of both the parents and young people – at our complex, interconnected, and social media-filled lives. “The Pack Drumline’s” high-energy, precision and dynamic rhythms bring spectators to the edge of their seats. The CENTER Stage Awards & Gala will feature Meow Meow, a sensational cabaret star, as she combines comedy, music and theatrical flair in an engaging, entertaining evening of high and low culture. “Step Afrika!” adds to the excitement with extraordinary step dance routines celebrating African American traditions and culture, skill and artistry.
