The weekend seafood lovers have been waiting for is finally here! The free 2024 Ocean Shores Razor Clam & Seafood Festival is taking place March 15-17 at the Ocean Shores Convention Center. ClamFest is produced by the City of Ocean Shores and presented by the Quinault Beach Resort & Casino. It’s the only place to get fresh, live Dungeness crab from our local waters provided by Quinault Pride Seafood of the Quinault Indian Nation. Cooked onsite, this is the freshest crab you will ever eat – unless you catch your own – and that’s a lot of work! So, skip the work and head to the Razor Clam & Seafood Festival. Festival hours are Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Best Seafood in Grays Harbor is at the Festival
If you are looking to sink your teeth into the freshest seafood in Grays Harbor, you do not want to miss the Ocean Shores Razor Clam & Seafood Festival! There will be razor clams, fresh whole Dungeness crab, clam chowder, fish and chips, crab shooters, salmon, crab and shrimp cocktails, Alaskan weathervane scallops, a raw oyster bar and more!
While the festival is free, you will want to get your advance tickets to some special meals as soon as possible, as these delectable dining experiences sell out every year. Purchase your half or whole crab dinner that comes with a fresh – never frozen – crab, herbed red and gold potatoes and coleslaw. The whole crab weighs an average of two pounds! “Our crabs are caught right before the Festival and kept in saltwater tanks at just the right temperature and brought to the Festival for cooking,” shares Scott Nagel, festival food manager. Tickets can be purchased for any of the three days of the festival online and redeemed anytime during the day. There may be meals available while supplies last at market rate on the festival days, but purchasing in advance guarantees you this amazing meal.
You will also want to purchase tickets in advance for the Sunday brunch featuring crab benedict and a bloody mary or a mimosa. There are four seating times to choose from.
Don’t forget the chowder! Purchase a tasting passport at the Festival to sample nine of the best clam chowders in the Pacific Northwest and vote for the People’s Choice – the winning chef gets $1,000!
Save some room to try other yummy treats, including Russian dumplings with chicken, pork, beef, potato, mushrooms and cheese, crepes, breakfast burritos, pizzas, funnel cakes, cheeseburgers and more! There will be wine, beer and other beverages for purchase as well.
Clam Dig, Live Music, Vendors and More During Razor Clam & Seafood Festival
While eating your fill, enjoy live music by Deer Swerver, SR 109 and Raucous on Friday and Saturday. Check out over 100 vendors with all kinds of handmade crafts, merchants, sponsors and nonprofits.
Decorate a clam gun or shovel and enter the Razor Clam Festival Clam Gun Decorating Contest. You can use anything you want to decorate it, and it does not need to still be functional. There are three categories, including two for kids, so the whole family can join! The grand prize is a concrete mosaic patio table valued at $350, and first place in the two kids’ categories gets a $50 gift card to Ocean Shores Kites! Fill out the application found on the Razor Clam & Seafood Festival website.
Speaking of clam guns…you won’t want to miss the chance to do some razor clam digging while in Grays Harbor, and you are in luck; there is a dig scheduled for the weekend of the Razor Clam & Seafood Festival at Copalis and Mocrocks! Visit the WDFW website for updated scheduling for clam digs, which are subject to change and/or cancellation due to marine toxins.
With so much to see, do and eat, your entire family will enjoy a weekend at the beach with the Razor Clam & Seafood Festival!
