It is hard to believe that the 2017 baseball season is already approaching its last stretch. But not to worry, sports fans. The Tacoma Rainiers still have a whole month of baseball left to play. Here is a list of a few specialty nights at Cheney Stadium in the month of August. Whether it is flashing the colors of an alma mater or supporting a good cause, Cheney Stadium is the summer place where Tacoma celebrates. “Specialty nights are just another way to help our community,” says Brett Gleason, media and communications manager for Tacoma Rainiers. “Not only are we connecting with our community, the money made from the auctions will continue to benefit them.”

It is time for Husky fans to don that particular royal shade of purple and head over to Cheney Stadium for Paint the Park Purple. Alumni (as well as friends, family and followers) of the University of Washington can show off their school spirit as the local boys face the Memphis Redbirds. Players will be wearing specialty jerseys available for auction on the concourse during the game. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the UW Tacoma scholarship program.

If purple is not your thing, perhaps crimson and grey is more to your liking. Washington State University’s Color Cheney Crimson night is an opportunity for WSU alumni and fans to show support for their beloved Cougs. While the Rainiers go head to head with the Memphis Redbirds, guests can expect a pregame tailgate, the Cougar Cruiser in the concourse and so much more. Players will be wearing special WSU jerseys that will be auctioned at the concourse during the game with proceeds going to the WSU Alumni Association.

While the Rainiers duke it out with the Reno Aces, players will be wearing specialty jerseys that will be signed and available through a live auction during the game, as well as a silent auction on the concourse.
